Pokemon

Pokemon is a contraction taken from two Japanese words, poketto and monsuta which means Pocket Monsters. The cute little characters are from a video game that also became hugely popular as trading cards, toys, and television shows. The purpose is to collect, train and battle with other Pokemon until a trainer eventually wins the match.
