It’s been many trine (years) since the release of the film The Dark Crystal and the spin-off, prequel series on Netflix takes place many trine before the movie, when Thra is being exploited by the greedy and oppressive Skeksis. The 7 clans of the Gelflings are divided and need to find a way to come together before it’s too late. With Aughra’s help, the Gelflings might find a way to heal Thra and put an end to the cruelty of the Skekis. This series gives us a better sense of the culture of the Gelflings and leaves us wondering what will happen next. We hope that the next season if there is one, brings us hope, but we already know how things ended up in the original movie.
